A SEARCH FOR HUMAN CONNECTION THROUGH ART
My search for Shared Consciousness begun with this question:
How can I unite the world with the colours that have helped me this far?
This search began in September 2019 when I found out that my brain tumour had returned.
Just the thought of it affected me drastically and made me revisit everything I have been doing
"How do I connect people through their differences and discrimination?"
Having battled schizophrenia and multiple other conditions, I knew something was amiss in my own narrative of healing. As schools shut following the COVID - 19 pandemic, I lost my only source of hope which came from the interactions with my students. Waking up each day just to be with my students erased my struggles and gave me something to look forward to.
The opportunity to connect with other humans surfaced in May 2020 when I asked individuals to share
their thoughts with me and I thus began painting what easily could empathize with. This made me rethink what my purpose as an artist could be. To create art that unites, involves, connects, and uplifts others.
To make them a part of the process with me - almost like a collective healing.
This is how SHARED CONSCIOUSNESS came into being.
I (Val Resh) will be painting a collection of human experiences on 1512 canvas rolls over the next 3 years.
The scale of these paintings combined will be exceeding the largest cricket field size in the world
that is The Motera Stadium in Gujarat -at 180 yards x 150 yards.
Further which I wish to display the collection across multiple grounds, and stadiums throughout the country.
Each roll is currently being displayed on the walls/grounds of my studio space in Pune. Once the first 500 are completed and verified, they will enter the INDIA BOOK OF RECORDS for 'The Largest Painting single handedly painted by an artist with schizophrenia'.
Sale proceeds of the paintings will be donated to organizations working towards the needs of children with disability, mental illness, intellectual & neuro-diverse groups, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds who have dropped out from school in order to financially support their families.

This process will continue as she adds elements from images others have shared with her. Thus, it won't be a copy work, a pasted transfer nor will she misuse your content. She will merely try and reflect it in her own style while combining it with those of others.
Please do read the Terms & Conditions properly.
